Hi! For a few weeks now I’ve noticed that I get small stutters (-12 to -5fps) every few seconds. Since I cap my framerate at 156, and have no trouble maintaining it (if i uncap i can play around 190 fps), it’s quite disruptive to my gameplay and makes the game feel choppy. Why do some people want 60 fps when it looks WORSE and reduces graphics? 197 results ... Games at 30 fps feel like movies? ... the PC the more it can handle while maintaining a high framerate at ...

    • Lately in every game I try, turning the mouse will result in occasional jittery and choppy sensations. My FPS is always at least above 60, but may dance around 80-140 in some games (like CS: GO and BioShock Infinite), but even forcing my FPS to 60 using an external program the jitters are still present, even though my framerate is consistent.

    • 2. Nsync is another pain in my butt. Again, I know what it does. Syncs the refresh rate and fps. So if your monitor is set @ 85hz and you play UT2K w/ vsync turned on, your fps will max at 85. Trying this gave the gave a choppy feel so i turned it back off. What i dont understand is why vsync causes a performance drop.

    • System Info: MSI Geforce GTX 1060 i7-4790K 4.00GHz Once upon a time, I had flawless FPS while playing this game, with no screen tearing, on a cheap AMD GPU. I then upgraded to a R9 380 and my game became a screen tearing mess, but all of my other games had choppy frames, so I assumed it was the GPU, and not another system related problem.
    • 60 FPS with g-sync is almost as smooth as 120hz. And for the coup d-gras, no more IPS monitors. They have high input lag and response time; if you're trying to smooth out your gaming as much as possible, I have to two TN g-sync monitors and I love em both. I have a Korean IPS 1440p that I use as an accessory monitor. No way I can game with it now.

    • this didnt even matter to me until i tried to record/stream this makes me dip below 60 fps and i need to uncap it to make it higher And for some reason whenever i uncap it and remove vsync, stream, or no stream, my screen is very choppy while i move it around the map does anyone know what might be the cause of this issue or how to fix it?
    • Hi, I've noticed that despite getting virtually identical frame-rates as I was in Origins, the game looks far more choppy, like it's running at 25 fps. As it is, I've reduced the environment settings to high, and am now running Odyssey at lower settings than Origins, yet Origins ran far far better.
    • So I just bought a 980 TI at a pretty sweet deal while deciding between that and a 1070 which would have almost been $100 more expensive. So I fire the thing up and going from a GTX 660, I was naturally expecting a lot more from this card. I installed all the drivers and loaded WoW up. The recommended went up from a 6 to a 7 on the slider but the individual check mark windows like SSAO ...
    • But when I try to cap it around 60 the game updates in little chunks, like hiccups, as if it was skipping frames or at a very low frame rate. The reason I need to cap frame rate is because in some computers I tested the fps varies a lot (from ~80 - ~250 fps) and those drops are noticeable and degrade response time.
    • Looked into that, NVIDIA control panel is set to use application setting for Vsync, a setting I never use in any game. Either my monitors don't show the tearing so bad, or I just can't see it. Feets66 said: First off, don't play in ultra, especially if it's a 2gb card. I get over 70 fps average with my fx6300 stock, and an hd7950, on high settings.

    • Sep 03, 2015 · I remember a poster saying 30fps is like a slideshow and thinking whatever, but having mostly played at 60fps in the majority of games, going back to 30fps did look and feel really choppy; but you get used to it again and then you don't even notice it.

Hi guys, just wanna ask, I ain't too good with computers but I think I have a low FPS problem. I just started playing Six Siege again after a long year break. I don't ever remember my game being this choppy. It doesn't lag or anything, but I feel its choppiness. I have to put all graphics setting to low in order for it to be smooth as butter.

If a game has really good animations that you're going to see (such as an adventure game or some RPGs), I'd really like a high framerate to make it look smoother. High-action games where mostly you're just seeing explosions and models dart in and out of cover probably don't need the framerate as much, but need a steadier one. Oct 07, 2015 · 1. This isn't a question, I just found it quite difficult to locate my particular issue online, so it's here for google. I'm building a platformer, and even though my render loop was able to complete in 0.05 ms (or 1200 fps), I was seeing constant frame losses that made the game look choppy. Jan 13, 2016 · I think it's a game wide issue. Like I said earlier, I'm getting about 58 fps most of the time while capped at 60 fps for the in-game limiter. The FPS is at an optimal level most of the time, but it does make it feel as if the game is stuttering slightly. I still see this problem but it is most noticeable on certain Ceres tilesets.

But lately the game has felt unplayable. It’s like I am getting 200 fps but it feels like I’m playing on 30fps with a 60hz monitor. The game slows down a lot and everything becomes sluggish and slow the more I get into fights. I can see that the game even looks slower on my screen, although when I look at my screen it’s meant to be high fps.
Well I can get 100+ FPS in anything but the moment I stream everything I get huge stuttering. Sometimes even my FPS will read at a really high number as well but I am stuttery all over the place. Whats even happening? I don't understand. Ill check my CPU usage while streaming, and everything drops to values BELOW what i run the game at normally.

Q3 starts to feel choppy to me when the frame rate drops below 100. I can actually feel frame rate lag. I think every game is different of course. I also use 120Hz monitor and 200Hz mouse rate, which could have some bearing on how smooth a FPS game feels.
